Scrum is an agile development methodology that has witnessed an increase in popularity and adoption over the past decade. The methodology is based on an iterative and incremental development approach in which small teams work on developing product features in short cycles called “sprints”. The methodology also advocates daily 15-minute stand-up meetings to get an update from each team member. The daily meeting focuses to have each team member answer questions related to their accomplishments since the last meeting, their plan until the next meeting, and if there are any hurdles that are keeping them from accomplishing their tasks. The Scrum Master’s role is to facilitate the whole process, while a Product Manager is the person who priorities business requirements and desired features and works with the team to schedule features in sprints.
