A Stage (Phase) Gate Review process is a project management technique used to make go-no-go decisions from one stage (phase) of the project to another. This term is used mostly in projects that employ a waterfall methodology but is also used in other projects and programs where projects and programs are divided into multiple phases or stages. The stage gate review process reviews the work done to date and other internal and external environmental factors to assess the feasibility of moving forward to the next stage or phase.
